As part of the celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of the 1947 Marian Congress, Father Yves Marchildon C.C. and Father Dennis Hayes C.C. and parishioners of Annunciation of the Lord Parish joined Blessed Sacrament Parish for a wonderful evening. Father Tremblay Rector of Our Lady of the Cape Shrine delivered a dynamic message. Decadent Doms served up deserts and fancy franks. Thanks to all.
At Notre Dame
Cathedral, Thurs., June 8, 7:30 p.m.
To commemorate the Marian Congress of 1947 and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our diocese, and the Consecration of
Canada to the Blessed Mother which occurred during that congress. There was a beautiful procession from the Chapel at the Mother House of the Sisters of Charity
of Ottawa to Notre Dame Cathedral. Leading the procession was a replica
statue of Our Lady of the Cape identical to the one that was used in the
consecration of Canada to the Blessed Mother seventy years ago.
