Christian pregnancy counselling under fire

WEBSITE LETS VISITORS KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT A MEDICAL CLINIC.
The Liberals are playing wedge politics again. They’ve released yet another in a long line of official attempts-tosave-their-arse announcements. This time, they’re letting Canadians know that they’ve had enough of pregnancy counselling centres that provide information about abortion — regardless of their faith — but do not offer referrals for the procedure or disclose that fact. No more charitable tax status for you!, the Liberals announced. Unless these clinics give in and go against their religious beliefs, or advertise openly that they won’t.

The announcement from Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland was so strange that when I first read about it, I had no idea what they were talking about.

The issue she described sounded so pervasive, so serious and important. The truth of the matter, as is often the case with the Liberals, is entirely different.

Yet, the background of the official statement makes the situation sound dire: “Concerns have been raised that some registered charities that offer reproductive health services to women, including pregnancy options counselling, may be spreading misinformation by presenting themselves as neutral, full-service pregnancy support service organizations when they are in fact anti-choice organizations that push women away from accessing the reproductive care of their choice.”

The Liberals are suggesting that this is happening to women, yet this serious announcement was not accompanied by facts or figures about the severity of this problem that supposedly requires the revocation of charitable status. And, as we all know, the Liberals are great at proposing answers to problems that don’t actually exist.

So, what are these faith based clinics like, anyway? Since the Liberal government did not provide a list of serious offenders and offences, I went looking myself.

I found Pregnancy Care Centre, whose website says they have served over 15,000 women over 40 years, assumedly without issue. It mentions Christ, and its stated mission is to “provide compassionate community support to women and families facing an unexpected pregnancy so that they can thrive without seeing abortion as their only option.” What absolute monsters!

Right away, their website lets visitors know that they are not a medical clinic, and that they do not provide or assist in arranging abortions. Well then, that would save someone who was actually looking for an abortion some time, it would seem.

While I haven’t investigated all clinics, this one certainly isn’t representing itself as neutral. Despite the site’s faith-based declaration, the clinic does provide information and counselling about abortion, but does not specifically offer referrals for abortions. The Liberals are likely not impressed, though, because, let’s face it, this clinic’s approach is Christian. The Liberals don’t seem to care much for their churches either. Coincidence? I think not.

I’m not convinced that the alleged shadowy cabal of anti-choice pregnancy centres that spurred Tuesday’s government announcement even exists.

Here’s the thing. There are obviously women out there who can read websites, are Christian, and want this kind of approach. What does it say about this Liberal government that they would like to take faith-based pregnancy counselling away from them?

Doug Ford Continues to Perpetuate DEI

From PAFE https://www.pafe.ca/

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are three words that should send shivers down your spine. While individuals and families in Ontario are waking up to the damage inflicted by DEI, Doug Ford’s government continues to double down and barrel forward.

We’d like to point your attention back to the tragic story of former Toronto District School Board (TDSB) principal Richard Bilkszto who committed suicide in 2021 after being bullied by TDSB’s contracted DEI and anti-racism initiatives, and was publicly humiliated and bullied for two long years in the name of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. A formal review of the circumstances leading up to his death was never performed.

Do you recall the controversial TDSB field trip-turned-political-protest? Parents were told their children (some as young as eight years old) were going to witness (and not engage with) a “community event” that was meant to bring awareness to the mercury poisoning on Grassy Narrows Indigenous community. Instead, students were encouraged by their teachers to participate in a pro-Palestine protest which included anti-Semitic chanting “From Turtle Island to Palestine, occupation is a crime.” Some students were told to wear blue shirts to identify them as colonizers, and others came home with “Zionist Kills” stickers.  In the TDSB there have been several complaints of anti-Semitism within the school board in the name of DEI. This specific incident, certainly wouldn’t have helped matters, seeing as many of the Jewish children on this field trip expressed feeling unsafe and uncomfortable.

Parents of the students on this field trip were rightfully upset, however no teachers were disciplined, and the TDSB trustees were hesitant to allow a review of this incident.

We acknowledge that these are two very different issues, but the root is the same pervasive rot: the radical agenda of DEI. Wherever it goes, discrimination, racism, and bullying seem to follow. Is this a coincidence or is this one of the fundamental issues with DEI?

Where does Doug Ford fit into all of this? The examples above are just a couple of many DEI-induced issues within TDSB. The Ford government continues to have the opportunity to reform DEI’s deep-rooted toxicity, but they choose to continue to perpetuate it instead. Why is it allowed to still wreak havoc on Ontario’s schools?

Patrick Case, former Minister of Education Chief Equity Officer for Kathleen Wynne was the man hired by the Ford government, to conduct a review of the TDSB field trip incident. He had a hand in introducing critical race theory and DEI ideology into Ontario’s curriculum. Patrick Case works closely with Colleen Russell-Rawlins, the TDSB education director who signed off on hiring Kike Ojo-Thompson, the race activist who bullied Richard Bilkszto in two separate anti-racism sessions in the spring before his death. Why is Doug Ford recycling Kathleen Wynne’s henchmen to fix an issue started by her?

Quite frankly – Doug Ford needs to fix his government’s mess. He needs to repeal the woke sex-ed, gender theory, and DEI that his government perpetuates in our schools. It’s absurd and careless to appoint someone like Patrick Case, to solve an issue that he directly helped to cause in the first place.

When will Doug Ford stop pandering to the far-left ideologies and start putting Ontario’s families first?

Kamala Harris Mocks Christian Who Shouted “Jesus is Lord” While She Promoted Abortion

 https://www.lifenews.com/2024/10/18/kamala-harris-mocks-christian-who-shouted-jesus-is-lord-while-she-promoted-abortion/

from the article

The Christian “bravely stood up and proclaimed, ‘Jesus is Lord.'” Only to be mocked by Harris: “I think you’re at the wrong rally.” She added. “Try the smaller one down the street.”

The documentation came from Jennifer McKinney, a Wisconsin resident who attended both the Trump rally in late August and the Harris event.

She explained the “smaller” Trump rally had about 7,000 attending, while Harris had perhaps a reported 2,500.

40 Days for Life 2024 - Friday, October 18, 2024

Annunciation of the Lord and Saint John the Apostle Parishes

We pray for the babies that will die today, for the mothers and fathers and all their family members. We pray for mothers greiving an abortion, for the women considering abortion that they have a change of heart and that the Lord will send them the help they need in their hours of distress. We pray for abortionists and all Abortion Supporters. supporters. We Pray for Crisis Pregnancy Centers.

It was pretty dark when I arrived at the corner of Queen and Bank. Of course, I had to go to the washroom. I shouldn't drink so much coffee I guess. But that will never happen. The building across the street has a washroom and a food court, so that helps

Anyway, shortly after beginning my prayers, Pat came by. I saw her coming out of the corner of my eye but since she was coming from a different direction I didn't notice her at first. I gave her instructions on how to find the corner but she couldn't follow them so she ended up coming out of the Train station across the Street. ( probably my fault although Pat is directionally challenged too)

A little while later James Larivierre who is the Pro-Life Rep from Saint John the Apostle came. We all prayed together. I thought that it was really neat that Saint John the Apostle Parish had signed up for the same day we did. I joined Saint John the Apostle Parishioners for Life Chain two weeks ago.

James and Pat

Maureen and Pat

Pat and I left at 8 for a coffee across the street. I was kind of cold although I shouldn't have been with all the heavy winter clothing I was wearing.

After our coffee, we took the train back to Blair. Pat drove me the rest of the way home.

I took these 2 photos below after our coffee break. I was glad to see that there was another Saint John the Apostle parishioner with James when we left; Pat and I are parishioners of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Ottawa.

James and James

Father Rob and Father Kevin were there between 1 and 2, as well as Janet, Ken, Gord and Lois, Luzia  arrived at 2 and Lois stayed with her until 3pm. Margaret and four Sisters from the Queenship of Mary came for 1 hour in the afternoon as well

Thank you, God, for all those praying today for the 40 Days for Life Intentions.

Thank you, God, for Hearing our Prayers!

Thy Will Be Done!

Know the truth of live birth abortions By Andrea Mrozek

Know the truth of live birth abortions

  • October 11, 2024

Infants born alive after abortion has come up recently. JD Vance asserted on October 1, 2024 that Tim Walz signed a statute in Minnesota, whereby doctors would no longer be required to provide life-saving care to a baby born alive after an abortion.

But why discuss this most electric of third rail issues? The politics gloss over the point. The real answer is laid bare in a June 2024 study that received no attention, published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our leaders should address issues before them, and infants born alive after abortion is clearly one of them. Babies born alive after an abortion in the second trimester, the authors assert, is “common.”

In resolutely academic language, the study says on average, eleven percent of abortions in the second trimester result in a live birth. 40 percent of these abortions are done between 20 and 24 weeks gestation (where over a quarter, one in four, resulted in a live birth). The reasons for the abortions are not fetal abnormality or maternal emergency, but rather in the majority “other personal factors.” This points to these abortions being done for social reasons. The mean survival time of the babies “is 110 minutes, with a range of 1 minute to 1 day.” The result of infants born alive after abortion is so common that the study authors advise “mothers be counseled on the risk of live birth.”

That’s an awkward counseling session.

The kicker for Canadians is that the study sample was 13,777 abortions done between 1989 and 2021 in Quebec.  This means that over 32 years, about 430 abortions resulted in live births every single year in that province.

A couple of observations:

First, most will say this doesn’t happen in Canada. It is called propaganda when (always) pro-life people bring it up.

Second, pro-life people ought to raise this. The weird twilight zone of transitioning from deliberately killing the fetus in utero to placing the baby in a neonatal ward or palliative care puts pro-choice people in, ahem, an uncomfortable position.

The authors speak of “feticidal injection” as “protective.” It means an injection will ensure the fetus emerges dead. “Live birth,” they tell us, “is less common after surgical abortion because the fetus is rarely intact.” Translation: Dismembering the fetus inside the womb better guarantees a dead baby.

Those who stridently defend this should be on the defensive.

An Austrian study in 2018 found fully 50% of abortions done between 20 and 24 weeks resulted in a live birth. There’s a global cadre of medical professionals who either rush to take an aborted baby to the neonatal unit, or witness the baby dying. They must watch signs of life disappear—“including breathing, heartbeat, umbilical cord pulsation, or muscle movement,” whether it takes one minute or one day.

The Mayo Clinic says a fetus at 20 weeks “might be awakened by noises or your movements.”

A doctor friend who delivers babies affirms this is a study about more effectively killing babies in utero. He points out a morally defensible scenario: “A woman at 22 weeks gestation with skyrocketing blood pressure, kidneys shutting down, liver enzymes through the roof, where the enemy is the placenta and that needs to be removed as soon as possible.”

Maternal emergency is the reason for these abortions in just five percent of cases.

So here we are, living comfortably sedated in relative peace and prosperity while we kill our children, only to have them live but then die. Whether uttered by Melania Trump or Kamala Harris, “reproductive freedom” must be one of the most malicious, nefarious terms the world has known.

Now more than ever, babies are unseen. The baby in utero: she’s rarely present. Today, fertility rates are so low we barely see born children in our daily lives.

This summer, I watched caterpillars and snails die in habitats we lovingly created for them. I felt bad. I began encouraging my kid to leave the caterpillars in the woods. It must be truly terrible to witness a baby emerge alive, who is supposed to be dead. Much worse is not finding it terrible at all.

This study doesn’t find it terrible. It simply documents. That’s a service to pro-lifers, and that’s why no one knows about the study.

But I can’t un-know what I just read, and now, dear reader, neither can you.

Canadian pro-life blogger reports the facts about abortion that mainstream journalists avoid - Jonathon Van Maren

 https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/canadian-pro-life-blogger-reports-the-facts-about-abortion-that-mainstream-journalists-avoid/

(LifeSiteNews) — If you’re a Canadian pro-lifer, you likely know that every year in this country, babies are born alive after abortions and left to die. You may not know that this chilling fact was uncovered not by the mainstream media, or even by a more established independent conservative or pro-life site — but by an independent pro-life blogger named Pat Maloney, the proprietor of a little blog titled “Run with Life.” On October 19, 2012, she published a post titled simply “Late term abortions statistics – born alive,” which revealed that between 2000 and 2009, 491 babies were born alive after abortions and left to die.

That discovery prompted a firestorm. National media outlets were forced to cover the news after two pro-life MPs, Leon Benoit and Maurice Vellacott, sent a letter to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police commissioner on January 23, 2013, calling for an investigation into these “attempted abortions” as “potential homicides.” Maloney’s discovery was discussed in Parliament, and Prime Minister Stephen Harper was forced to respond to the issue. This national abortion discussion was triggered by a single independent blogger, filing Access to Information and Privacy Requests with the government for information on abortion.

Maloney is still at it. Although she has been published and quoted by mainstream newspapers, she publishes the bulk of her work at Run with Life, uncovering Canadian government numbers on late-term abortion, live birth abortions, euthanasia, and government spending on the LGBT agenda. In my own work on these issues, I have used her blog as a resource countless times. She is an invaluable resource for the pro-life and pro-family movement, and she agreed to an interview on her work.

When did you begin your independent journalism?

Around 2008. It began with letters to the editor on abortion matters, including MP Ken Epp’s unborn victims of crime bill. I then began my blog in 2010. I was noticing that whenever pro-choice people speak, they used slogans that were fabricated out of thin air: “my body my choice,” “I can do what I want with my body,” “right to abortion,” “abortion is healthcare,” yada yada, slogans that were all based on lies. I thought: Do they really believe this stuff they are saying? But I guess when you repeat a lie often enough, you do start believing them. And I was hooked.

You’ve broken a number of big stories. Why have those stories been uncovered by an independent blogger rather than any of Canada’s mainstream media outlets?

It seems that the mainstream media is pro-choice and has been for many years. I am not convinced at all that all media persons personally believe the pro-choice ideology in their heart. Of course, many do believe it. But I think some may feel obliged to follow the pro-choice party line. I remember when I used to believe that ridiculous line that “I would never have an abortion myself ,but who am I to tell a woman she can’t have one?” How silly is that? If you wouldn’t have an abortion because it is clearly wrong, then why wouldn’t you tell a woman she shouldn’t have one either? “I would never commit a murder myself, but who am I to tell a woman she can’t murder someone else?” So the topic of abortion is just untouchable. The radical pro-abortion lobby puts the fear of God (not that they believe in God) into the media and into politicians. Even when the story is newsworthy like the born-alive abortions, the media won’t run with it.

What is the most shocking thing you’ve uncovered about Canada’s abortion regime?

I have to say the born-alive abortions. To discover that these horrific abortions happen every year in Canada, and are still happening, which means they have probably been happening since abortion became legal in 1988, and maybe even before, who knows for sure? All abortions are horrific. But to know that late-term babies are being born breathing after a failed abortion and left to die just breaks my heart. Now, I noticed recently Pro-life Alberta actually got CTV news to cover this story in Alberta. I was very glad to see that the mainstream media did so. That in itself was a coup. Kudos to Pro-life Alberta for getting that to happen.

Which revelation are you most proud of?

I think our 2012 Charter Challenge case against the Ontario government for hiding abortion statistics. This was a huge win for freedom of speech and for the pro-life movement in general. We actually had a judge who dealt with the case in a fair and impartial way. I remember sitting in the courtroom that day and thinking to myself, maybe we have a chance to win this. My lawyers, Albertos Polizogopoulos and John Sikkema, did such a great job of presenting our case and the judge asked so many great questions. I also chuckled to myself when I knew there was an army of lawyers on the government’s side, all being paid exorbitant fees, in a case that was just so ridiculous, while our case did not have any big dollars behind it.

Pro-life groups do not have all the millions of dollars in government funding that the pro-choice groups do, either. I thought that maybe our rights would be protected. I felt very positive that day. Five years later, we learned that we won. It was amazing. But the frustrating thing was that we had to go to court in the first place to prove that we were right all along. I am convinced that this case was a purely political move by the government’s pro-abortion politics. But they lost and we won. Hurray for once.

Which stories do you plan to tackle going forward?

My mainstay work for a long time now has been doing access to information requests. Often, an ATIP (Access to Information and Privacy Online Request) will yield something that wasn’t even what I was originally looking for, but then I can expose it, and that is very satisfying. I’ve been doing ATIPs since 2010, mostly on abortion, but in the past few years I’ve started doing them on MAiD and the LGBTQ ideology, both of which have become pervasive in the culture.

It’s a tough slog doing and keeping track of ATIPs and I’m not great at doing administration. Plus, I have to be very persistent and very patient in getting results, because responses don’t come quickly. Often, I wait months and months for results. I currently have one ATIP outstanding since June 2023, and another outstanding since December 2023. I have to follow up with the departments regularly. Sometimes, you get very little worthwhile information, but I keep doing it anyway. I also never expected to get involved in euthanasia; I actually thought Canada would never make it legal. Boy was I naive.

So here we are coming to the end of 2024 and into 2025. I will just keep plugging away as time permits, and as long as I am healthy, doing my small bit to expose whatever I can in this crazy country where it is completely legal to kill defenseless fragile human beings.
