Pat suggested that we pray to Saint Ambrose as well

so at the end of the prayer, we might say

St. Ambrose, you inspired St.Augustine.

We ask you to pray for all our leaders who have strayed from God

Send each one of them a kind soul who will help lead them back

A few months ago we started a little prayer group ( thanks Jackie for initiating this ) with a prayer petitioning St. Monica to intercede for us in our worries and anxieties. As a mournful mother, of a prodigal son, Saint Monica understands a mother's heart. So after mass, we pray for the intentions that are in our hearts: our loved ones, our spouses, children, grandchildren, etc. A couple of weeks ago our parish was given this beautiful icon as a gift. Thank you Gloria! God bless you!

Lately, I, have extended my prayers to include children who are being led astray by a society that has lied to them about their identity as children of God, male and female wonderfully made in His image and likeness. This saddens me so much. Our leaders, have let them down, by pushing this radical sexual agenda everywhere: in our schools, our hospital, and our Universities. For the sake of our children O Lord, please open the eyes of all who are blind to the harm that is being inflicted on our little ones Bring them back!

In the 50's it was lobotomies. Today it is the sexual exploitation, abuse, and mutilation of children

Yup, the Ottawa Police are now on the Lyra Evans chopping block along with Pro-lifers

Why does Evans have it in for so many people?? How can someone who is so intolerant even be allowed to run for a School Board let alone be elected? The photo below was taken at the National March for Life several years ago and Evans joined a rowdy bunch of Marxist supporters who blocked our route and screamed anti- life anti-Christian hatred at the peaceful Marchers. Believe me, I was there.

On Feb. 13, the Centers for Disease Control published its biennial Youth Risk Behavior Survey Data Summary and Trends Report for 2011-2021 and it showed the truly alarming, and rapidly worsening, situation of the mental and spiritual health of high school students in the United States.

The report documented that 42% of U.S. high school teens in 2021 said they felt persistently sad or hopeless, 22% seriously considered attempting suicide in the previous year, 18% had come up with a concrete plan on how they would end their life, and 10% percent actually tried to carry out that plan (and thankfully failed).

As worrisome as those numbers are, the breakdown between boys and girls was even more distressing. Fifty-seven percent of high school girls felt persistently sad or hopeless (compared to 29% of boys), 30% of girls seriously contemplated suicide in the previous year (14% of boys) and 24% (12% for boys) had a suicide plan.

And the rapid increase in persistent sadness and suicidal ideation among teenage girls is likewise startling: Since 2011, persistent sadness and hopelessness had grown from 36% to 57%, suicidal thoughts from 19% to 30%, and suicide plans from 15% to 24%, a 60% increase in each category in a decade. (Over the same span, chronic sadness among high school boys had grown from 21% to 29%, suicidal thoughts from 13%-14%, and suicidal plans from 11%-12%).

And it is interesting that Jesus' first miracle, the celebration of the beautiful union of two of God's children one male and one female is cause for celebration. It draws attention to the story of creation that in His image and likeness He created us. God created us to fill the earth with His children: all of us called by name and known by Him for eternity. It is a sacrilege the way this generation has made a mockery of God and His moral law. Lord have mercy on us all!
