Legion of Mary - Ottawa Regia

from Jennifer Snell

"The day was considered an overwhelming success. The event was held at Paroisse Saint-Francoise d'Assise. We started with the Holy Rosary led by the Sisters of the Queenship of Mary Community, followed by Holy Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop of Ottawa- Cornwall, Yvan Mathieu.

The children's choir from Académie Stella Maris School provided sacred music for the Mass with many parts sung in Latin. Several speakers addressed the growth and the need for Independent Catholic Schools to form our children in the Catholic faith.

A wide variety of Catholic organizations and businesses set up displays so everyone was able to visit each other's tables. A table was set up with a display of beeswax candles of all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors.

There was a guided tour of the Church. The history of the parish is very interesting.  http://stfrancoisdassise.on.ca/histoire-de-la-paroisse/To close the day, we spent thirty minutes in Eucharistic Adoration.

Without John Pacheco, none of this would have happened. To John, thank you and may God bless you and reward your passion for Catholic education.Jennifer Snell

To promote collaboration and cooperation between Catholic ministries and businesses in the Ottawa area and to support the growth of independent Catholic education in Ottawa the first Annual Ottawa Catholic Community Day and School Fair organized by John Pacheco was held yesterday at Paroisse Saint-Francoise d'Assise, 20 Fairmont Ave., Ottawa https://www.ciocs.ca/

The Consortium of Independent Ontario Catholic Schools (CIOCS) is a network of schools whose primary purpose is to foster collaboration and communion among member schools while upholding shared values, mission, and commitment to Catholic education. See the article from Lifesite News here
