Diocesan Feast, Notre Dame Cathedral, Ottawa, Thursday, June 9, 2016, 7:30 PM

Catholics from across the Archdiocese were invited to join in the Diocesan Feast, which was
held on Thursday, June 9th at 7:30 pm at Notre Dame Cathedral – 385 Sussex Drive,
Ottawa.
This celebration is held each year in June to commemorate both the foundation of the Diocese of
Bytown on June 25, 1847 and its promotion to the rank of Archdiocese on June 8, 1886.

In light of this being the Year of Mercy, the various works, corporal  and spiritual, by which our parishes are a reflection of God’s mercy were celebrated.
Representatives from each parish brought the Archbishop a card illustrating how their parish is involved in various works of mercy. These cards were placed on display for the rest of the year close to the Door of Mercy in the Cathedral so that visitors and pilgrims may see the works of mercy being performed in our parish communities.

Today I made a personal pilgrimage downtown to the Cathedral and through the Holy Door and decided to take a few photos of these cards which were placed near the Door of Mercy

And I met my lovely friend Gemma.  It is always a delight to see Gemma . After mass Gemma bought me a coffee at a really neat little coffee shop in the Market. I forget the name of the cute little restaurant already.

After coffee time we said our goodbyes and I continued on my pilgrimage by spending some time in prayer at the Grotto in Vanier. Thank you Jesus for the beautiful day.

Anyways here are a few photos I took and a video
