Queenship of Mary Sisters - Amazing Grace

From Wanda

The 40 Days for Life Opening Rally last Wednesday, went well with about 70 pro-lifers coming out to help start things off. And the rain held off until almost the end. Photo attached.

The Sisters from the Queenship of Mary Community graciously helped out with the singing.  Sister Elizabeth Marie of the Holy Family and Sister Anna Marie led us in some meaningful songs:  God of this City, Mighty to Save and Amazing Grace.

Father Erik Deprey FSSP, pastor of St. Clement Parish prayed a beautiful opening prayer and spoke to us about the significance of the number 40 in the bible. He also gave us a more detailed account of the group of 150 people in Toronto, who decided, during the 40 Days for Life, Winter Spring campaign to fast on bread and water for 40 days. Nine babies were saved from being aborted; one even before the campaign started, when her mom heard about the upcoming fast. Father reminded us to pray for the doctors and the nurses, because there would be no abortions if they didn’t do them.

Helena, our Church and Ministry Coordinator gave lots of good relevant information, including, there’s no where to store a supply bag so please register on-line and get in touch with her for signs. She also told us that the number of vigil locations has increased to a record number, 622, up from 612 last year.

Debbie, from Campaign Life Coalition encouraged everyone to participate in Life Chain on Sunday and as she was waiting to speak, she got a phone call from a family member announcing that her daughter had just delivered a baby boy at 7:14 pm. Giving Debbie a second grandchild.

Deacon Charles Fink, talked about the decline in populations, worldwide. Countries are not having enough babies to replace their current number and therefore economies will suffer. Society will suffer. He asked, “Where are they now? – the doctors, nurses and service workers.”

Lastly, I spoke, telling people about Beaujeu Park in Montreal. Montreal city council is wanting to rename it to, Dr. Henry Morgentaler Park. An event was held in early September to alert nearby residents and protest the change. The local residents were not even aware that the name change was about to take place. I’ll let you know if Montreal city council goes ahead with their plan. As I concluded my talk, the rain started to come down harder, and we ended with everyone singing, Amazing Grace.

Please join us in our campaign to save lives.

Yours for Life,

Wanda
