CCRSO Conference
Barb and I both took the bus and let me tell you it was quite an adventure for me because even though I am a frequent rider I wasn't prepared for the recent changes to the system and ended up taking the O train and three different buses to get to the Conference. Madeleine had offered to drive me ( she is so sweet) but I said "Oh no I'm fine, I take buses all the time. I know the routes, no problem"
My final bus, the number seven that I boarded at the Rideau Centre was also Barb's end-of-the-line bus as well. Even though she came from Barhaven and I from the East End, we met up on the final trek down Bank Street. We couldn't have planned that if we tried so it was kind of neat
We arrived at Blessed Sacrament Church at approximately 8:30 am, and registration was in the basement hall, entering through the Brother Andre Door 😇. I love the Brother Andre Entrance
We were joyfully welcomed by the Sister Servants of the Cross and The Sisters of the Queenship of Mary
I looked around for the MDM KIOSK and the Pilgrim Statue of our Lady of the Cape but both were gone. I have to find out about this
Ok, I found out about the Pilgrimage Statue. During our lunch break, I asked Alain. He told me that after the Our Lady of the Cape Pilgrim Statue Tours of 2022 Mary changed her address and moved in with the Queenship of Mary Community. However, there are two Pilgrim Stautes both of which were refurbished by Pauline and Steve Winogron and they are stunning. The events of the story of the two Pilgrim statues are Divinely coordinated, It is absolutely amazing.
Morning session of the Conference
Eucharistic Adoration and then Mass was at 9:30 . Father Tim Nelligan was the main Celebrant. Mass was so reverent and Fr. Nelligan gave a really inspiring homily. I wish I had taken notes
For some reason ( and this isn't like me) I forgot to take pictures. What the heck??? Although I did manage to take a quick photo of Dr. Martin after his second talk as he was leaving.
Anyways, after mass, we were welcomed by Avery Burrowes followed by Praise and Worship although I don't remember the Praise and Worship because, after mass, I took a washroom break and quickly gulped a coffee in the hall then hurried up so as not to miss any of Bishop Scott's presentation at 10:45
His topic was "Where is the Church today?" a few notes below ( I hope Bishop McCaig's talks are available somewhere. The morning one was awesome and I wasn't able to stay for his afternoon talk
He said that there have been moments in over 2,000 years that have been critical turning points in the history of the Church and we are in one of them. He gave us a biblical view of what's going on. The
