The 2025 Life Chain in Snapshots - CANADA, October 5, 2025

The 2025 Life Chain, held on Sunday, October 5 in most locations, marked the 35th year of this powerful demonstration in Canada. The Life Chain Canada committee used the occasion to launch a new online hub for this event: lifechain.ca.

Pat and I prayed at the corner of Montreal Road and the Vanier Parkway

I want to thank you for helping make it happen and for being a link in the Life Chain if you were able to participate.

Even when faced with planned counter-protests or a pro-choicer in the community with a vendetta (and undoubtedly an unhealed wound), local Life Chain organizers forged ahead.

So many of our supporters stepped up to fill a gap where there was one.

In Unity, Saskatchewan, an elderly organizer was looking for someone else to take over the Life Chain. I got a call from a 25-year-old mom who used to be pro-choice and “anti-Christian” before her conversion. She had recently moved to the area and was thrilled about this providential opportunity because she had been looking for ways to further the pro-life cause locally.

Many participants, too, went through hell and high water to be a part of the event. Some drove for hours. Some stood on the sidewalk for at least a period of time despite health challenges—heart problems, cancer, or a broken hip. 102-year-old Mildred once again brought out her chair for the Life Chain in St. Stephen’s, NB.

One participant who attended a Life Chain in Ottawa, ON, shared how after witnessing some passersby scream at her, nearby window washers offered her words of encouragement. One showed her a photo of his kids and admitted “he didn't have the courage to stand against abortion the way we do.”

He’s right. It does take courage to take part in Life Chain and so I want to commend everyone who has done so over the years.
