It’s
been a week since the March for Life and the infamous video depicting the
"confrontation" between the young high school student, Nick Sandmann and a
Native American elder, Nathan Phillips chanting and beating a drum..
I watched the video and wondered what all the fuss was about.
I didn’t see the kid doing anything wrong.
"Seriously? " I thought. "Am I missing something?"
"He must have done something terribly wrong to be receiving such

hateful comments over the internet."
" I don’t get it." I thought. "There must be more to
the story than
a smiling kid standing passively in
front of the Elder. "
Well, actually there is more to the story and it doesn’t look good

When
more videos emerged it was obvious that
Phillips was the one who waded into a crowd that was already there

( and not the other way around as the media would have you believe)
and stood inches from student Nick Sandmann’s face.
I see Nathan Phillips as the bully here

Not only did the students do nothing wrong but
their
behaviour was exemplary in the face of such a horribly stressful situation
There
was a lot going on at the Lincoln Memorial at the time
the kids were waiting for their bus. In fact it has come to light
click here that A Catholic priest was the target of bigoted slurs
from the radical activist group The Black Hebrew Israelites
shortly before the kids were verbally attacked by the same group,
The Covington kids reacted swiftly to defend the priest and their faith.
Monsignor Patrick Hambrough was walking back
to the Lincoln Memorial
after the March for Life when the students witnessed the priest
being verbally assaulted and a group of the boys rushed to his side.
This radical group yelled hateful things like
“ priests and Catholics are all child molesters,
everyone born Catholic is born out of incest”,

All
this being said my question is why has this group not been called out
on their disgusting behaviour?
on their disgusting behaviour?
What
I do know and have come to find really depressing it is how Catholics are hated .
Out of all that was going on, the hatred from this black Israeli group, the “in your face” actions from the Elder, it would seem that the Catholic Hating Media decided to focus on one thing and one thing alone, and that was an innocent pro life Catholic student
waiting for his bus after the March for Life. Why? Because they didn’t like the
way he smiled? It's no wonder that we don't trust the mainstream media anymore.

What is amazing to me is how aggressively the media ignores hundreds and thousands people – nuns and pastors, families made by adoption and birth, young and old, rich and poor, volunteers in pregnancy care centers and students from across the country – all marching for Life. They see nothing, wading through a crowd, to find something they can criticize. Attacking students based on a few minutes of video is offensive for many reasons, but ignoring all that could be easily seen is just as problematic. The story of the March for Life deserves to be told by those who ignore it because of their bias and prejudice against people of faith and in favor of abortion.
We are glad to see the truth coming out about what really happened Friday afternoon and are keeping the Covington students in our prayers as they deal with the fallout of this media set-up, particularly the vicious threats they continue to receive on social media. Our team at Students for Life has reached out to them as we stand ready to help them continue their pro-life activism at their school and in their community. Quite frankly, this story gets to the root of why so many conservatives and pro-lifers don't trust the mainstream media any longer.
