Joseph Ratzinger: What Will the Church Look Like in 2000?

Professor Ratzinger’s radio addresses from 1969
The theologian is no soothsayer; nor is he a futurologist, who makes a calculation of the future based on the measurable factors of the present. His profession very largely withdraws from calculation. Only very slightly, therefore, might it become concerned with futurology, which itself is no soothsaying; rather, it ascertains what is calculable and has to leave the incalculable an open question. Because faith and the Church reach down into those depths from which creative newness, the unexpected and the unplanned, are constantly coming forth, their future remains hidden to us, even in an age futurology. When Pius XII died, who could have foreseen the Second Vatican Council or the postconciliar development? Or who would have dared to foretell the First Vatican Council when Pius VI, abducted by the troops of the young French Republic, died a prisoner in Valence in 1799? Three years earlier one of the directors of the Republic had written: “This old idol will be destroyed. This is what freedom and philosophy desire. . . . It is to be hoped that Pius VI will live two years longer to give philosophy time to complete its work and leave this lama of Europe without a successor.”1 Things were in such a bad way that funeral orations were delivered on the papacy, which people were forced to regard as extinguished forever.

A Cardinal Agrees With a President: What Is the World Coming To? - Crisis Magazine: And so it has come to pass in these strange and dangerous days that an American cardinal is being criticized—and even exhorted to resign—for expressing support for an American president. But those who are critical of New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan for taking part in a conference call with President Trump, and later complimenting the …

Four Cardinals join global appeal decrying crackdown on basic freedoms over coronavirus

The signatories assert the right of the Church to offer public worship

Thursday May 7, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) –

Catholic clergy led by former papal nuncio Archbishop Carlo Maria ViganĂ² and Cardinals Robert Sarah, Gerhard Ludwig Mueller, Joseph Zen and Janis Pujats have joined an appeal “for the Church and the world” that warns that the COVID-19 pandemic is being used as a “pretext” by world leaders to “control” people, strip them of their fundamental rights, while providing a “disturbing prelude to the realization of a world government beyond all control”

CONSECRATION OF CANADA TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY - May 1 2020

From the CCCB

CONSECRATION OF CANADA TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH, IN TIME OF PANDEMIC 1 May 2020

https://www.cccb.ca/site/images/stories/pdf/Marian_Consecration_1_May_2020.pdf

Prayer of Consecration Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, in this time of pandemic, we turn our gaze to you, and in Christ consecrate to you the faithful of our Diocese/Eparchy 5 together with all the people of Canada.

At the Annunciation, fear gave way to trust as you embraced the mysterious and loving plan of God, who through his providence, care and concern brought about newness of life in you and through you. Intercede, we pray, on our behalf as your children, Virgin most faithful. Grant us faith, hope and perseverance, as we strive to serve and bear witness to all persons, responding to the needs of those affected by this virus.

Standing at the foot of the Cross at Calvary, you united yourself with the sufferings of Christ and so uniquely contributed to the mystery of our redemption. We beseech you as Health of the sick, draw to yourself in maternal compassion the brothers and sisters of your Son Jesus and all those who are grieved by this pandemic. Strengthen the dying and comfort those who weep so that all may experience the healing grace of Christ our Divine Physician.

At the Cenacle, after the Resurrection, you accompanied the Apostles with prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In your maternal care as Consoler of the afflicted, accompany healthcare professionals, all who minister to the sick and those who seek a cure to end this pandemic, that the Holy Spirit may renew the face of the earth.

To all of us, dearest Mary, Mother of all the living, be present and show forth your tenderness, as we raise our eyes to you who shines forth before the entire community as a merciful and compassionate companion on our journey. Time and time again, with burdens weighing heavily on their hearts and in their many necessities, the Christian faithful have sought refuge under your mantle of protection.

Come quickly to our aid at this time, Mother of Mercy, and deliver us from the dangers that surround us in our hour of need; watch over especially the elderly, the weak and the infirm, our children and the unity of our families, and all those who give of themselves selflessly in pastoral care to those in need until in your arms and in your gentle embrace we all find safety and solace.

R. Amen.

Historic Inaugural Virtual Canada 54 National Novena!

Next Virtual Canada 54 Launch is May 7th click here for details

Above are a few images of the Historic 1947 Marian Congress

During this Novena I pray for all those affected by the Covid 19 pandemic and I pray  also, for a return in Canada to the Faith of our Ancestors: the deep Faith on which our county was built and which was so evident during the Congress which was Ottawa’s greatest pilgrimage of faith and drew over a quarter million people to the city. No other occasion in the History of Ottawa induced as many people to come as far, and stay as long, as did the  Marian Congress

For a short summary of the Congress that I put together from several
Archived Newspaper Articles click here

Sadly since that time we have drifted so far away from God and His commandments
that it seems like almost an impossible task to reverse this secular sinful tide.

But with God and Mother Mary's Prayers on our behalf all things are possible!

Thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit and Mama Mary!

Perpetual Adoration - World Centre of Prayer for Peace in NiepokalanĂ³w

The work of creating the Chapel of Perpetual Peace of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in NiepokalanĂ³w was started in 2017.

The creation of the Chapel was for many years the desire of the monastery and parish community, as well as pilgrims visiting this special place. Initially, it was expected that it would be a chapel serving the local communities and pilgrims.

Design work commenced, commissioning the altar to Drapikowski Studio from GdaÅ„sk. The concept of the altar arose. However, God's providence had other plans. In 2017, the letter of St. Maximilian and read it in the context of the resulting altar design. Already in 1934 Saint. Father Kolbe wrote from Japan to Poland:

"I imagine the beautiful figure of the Immaculate Virgin in a great altar, and against it a monstrance between outstretched hands in the continuous display of the Blessed Sacrament." That was the shape of the altar's conceptual design. This extraordinary event was the direct reason why the Communita Regina della Pace Association proposed in November 2017 that the eighth star should find its place in NiepokalanĂ³w.

Father Provincial WiesÅ‚aw Pyzio agreed to this. Implementation of the project was commenced, which required carrying out a number of construction works and employing many contractors, and the chapel had to be organized from scratch, because the sacristy had been in this room before.

The works were complicated and difficult because they could not disturb Masses and services held in the basilica.

Urgently Needed - Eucharistic Processions - Eucharistic Adoration

"Our own belief is that the renovation of the world will be brought about only by the Holy Eucharist."
- Pope Leo XIII

"Christ's love for us: behold the Eucharist!
Love that gives itself, love that remains, love that communicates itself, love that multiples itself, love that sacrifices itself. The Eucharist is the love that unites us and the love that saves us."
Pope Paul VI

"Pius X knew no other road than the Eucharist by which he could arrive at heroism in his love of God. He knew no other road by which he could return to the Redeemer of the world, Who by means of the Eucharist poured out the wealth of His Divine love on humans."

Pope Pius X11

" Be witnesses to the love of the Eucharistic Christ, a love that spurs us on to unlimited generosity. It also spurs us on to total surrender to Him, and through Him to all those who seek Him with a true heart."

Pope John Paul 11

"What the world really asks of us is that the Mystery of Redemption be accessible to all, especially to the poor, the sick, children, the young, the family. It is precisely through the Eucharist that Christ's Redemption touches each person's heart, transforming the world's history."

Pope John Paul 11

"Today solemn exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is the grace and need of our time. Society will be restored and renewed when all its members group themselves around our Emmanuel."
- St. Peter Julian Eymard

12 Stars in the Crown of Mary Queen of Peace

Father Kolbe wrote from Japan to Poland: "I imagine a beautiful figure of the Immaculate Virgin in a great altar, and against it a monstrance in the open exposition of the Blessed Sacrament."

That was the shape of the altar's conceptual design. This unusual event was a direct reason why the Communita Regina della Pace Association proposed in November 2017 that the eighth star should find its place in NiepokalanĂ³w. Father Provincial WiesÅ‚aw Pyzio agreed to this. Implementation of the project was commenced, which required carrying out a number of construction works and employing many contractors, and the chapel had to be organized from scratch, because the sacristy had been in this room before. The works were complicated and difficult because they could not interfere with Masses and services held in the basilica.

However, no material work was the essence of the enterprise. His main goal, realized with full determination, was to build a spiritual chapel in the hearts of people. From the beginning, the basis of the undertaking was prayer, selfless prayer offered from the heart of people. Especially the parishioners of the Immaculate Order, but also the support of people from all over the country and even from the world was felt. The common goal of seeking peace in the hearts of people united all.

At the same time, intentions were collected from all donors, which were carefully collected, packed into a steel cassette and placed in the steps of the altar of adoration. These intentions, prayers and thanksgiving will stay here forever, as a sign of faith of the people involved in this undertaking. It is also the greatest gift for the generations who will make their prayers in this chapel. Lastly, the intention was made to pray for those who would pray in the chapel. As Saint wrote Maximilian: "whoever looks into the church, falls on his knees, adores, looks at the face of the Immaculate Virgin, goes away, and she and Jesus deal with him."

The essence of prayer for peace is its continuity in the world, independent of time zone, place and circumstances. Prayer is to flow constantly and change people's hearts so that they are full of peace. The Lord says: I will give you a new heart and a new spirit inside you, I will take a stone heart from you and I will give you a heart of flesh. Ezek 36.26.

Good Friday - Via Dolorosa ( called the Way of Suffering )

Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed into see
The man condemned to die on Calvary.

He was bleeding from a beating - there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon his head
And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for his death.

Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa all the way to Calvary.

The blood that would cleanse the souls of all men
Made its way through the heart of Jerusalem.
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering

Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of his love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary
