Corpus Christi 2023
I love Catholic processions. I believe they are a very powerful way to evangelize. I especially like Corpus Christi Processions! Nowadays our young people know very little about Jesus and our Catholic Faith so why not begin with a parish walk with Jesus around the neighborhood?
When I was in Poland a few years ago our tour guide remarked on how clean the older houses are and she told us the reason. The people of Poland wash the outside walls of the old wooden homes each year in June in honor of our Lord Jesus Christ who will be passing by. Such reverence to our King! She said this washing of the homes each year preserves the wood and keeps them looking new. Some of these homes are over a century old.

They also remind me of Mommy and Daddy. Mom and Dad's peonies were out in full splendor on June 15, 1968, the day Mike and I were married. My parents, Jim and Elaine Maloney had a beautiful reception for us at our house at 10 Isabelle Street in Hull Que. Because it was such a beautiful sunny day, we spent much of the time outside in our backyard with the beautiful spring foliage, especially the peonies which were in full force, like in the musical Oklahoma. Remember this song from Oklahoma Spring is busting out all over, all over the meadows and the hills. ( A little bit of trivia...For as long as I can remember, Mom often played music from Broadway Musicals as she worked around the house and I used to know all the songs from Oklahoma, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady..................) Anyways, shortly after Mike and I were married Mom and Dad moved to Lanark and brought some peonies with them. They moved a few times after that and each time the peonies tagged along. The plants I have now go back to our home on Isabelle St. I remember the day Daddy dug them up for me from their garden in Kemptville (their final home before Mom died in 2001) It was the Fall of 1993 a few months after Mike and I moved to our present home on Blue Jay Crescent. Daddy helped me to plant them. He wanted to make sure I planted them deep enough. Daddy loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes. When he moved to Rosebridge Manor near Merrickville after mom's death he was given a little garden plot in their yard and he grew tomatoes for the residents. The same thing when a year later he moved to Longfields Manor in Barrhaven: he grew tomatoes and watered the indoor plants. We kids, call him the patron saint of tomatoes. |

Run With Life: Why did Canada spend $12 million on "pride" during...:
Being that it's the so-called "pride season", I thought it might be a good idea to see just how much of our tax dollars during COVID went to this ideology that is force fed down our collective throats. So I took a deep dive into the murky waters of Global Affairs reporting on our tax dollars redistribution to all things "pride". What I discovered is that for the three years of the pandemic 2020-2022, the government spent over $12 million on "pride" grants, $12,548,238 to be exact.
Isn't it interesting that we continued to fork out money to the "pride" dogma, even when the entire country, and especially our churches, were shut down during COVID? Yet we still gave millions of dollars to "pride". What did they do with that money anyway, since they couldn't have their irreverent and lewd parades and festivals?
Note 1: I also included 2023 spending in the report (though I excluded 2023 grants from the total dollars). Because the 2023 year isn't finished yet, we can expect millions more spent for 2023; it is only included for information purposes.
Note 2: I only searched on "pride", and not "LGBTQ" and other associated keywords which would retrieve another whole bunch of spending from our tax dollars. For this post I only wanted to concentrate on the "pride" parades, "pride" festivals, and other associated gospel of "pride" spending.
Note 3: It isn't bad enough that we are exposing our children to all things "pride", we are now also indoctrinating seniors by using "pride" grants from the "New Horizons for Seniors Program":
"The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is a federal grants and contributions program. It provides funding for projects that make a difference in the lives of seniors and in their communities."

Come Holy Spirit - Charismatic Renewal in Canada - the Series
Having its beginnings from a retreat for college students in 1967, The Catholic Charismatic Renewal has been described as a “chance for the Church” (Pope Paul VI), “a special gift of the Holy Spirit” (Pope John Paul II), and is called to share the “current of grace” which is baptism in the Holy Spirit (Pope Francis).
Fr. Bob Bedard speaks about the Holy Spirit, conversion,
the desire of the Lord to be involved in our lives, and authentic religious experience. He speaks about Evangelization as the number one mission of the Church.
